felt flowers

Since my engagement and the holidays, every weekend has pretty much been booked! From trying to figure out a place for the reception and just little sprouts of ideas of a theme or decor, I am pooped!

While spending time with my sister, I decided to make felt flower boutineers. Basically, the groom, groomsmen, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles from the bride and grooms side should wear one so the count is at 40-ish. I just might make a couple more just in case I forgot someone...which I probably have.

I spent a couple of hours last night practicing which ones i might use and to see which ones take longer to produce. Now all I have to do to go shopping for the right colored felt and some florist supplies, and maybe some embellishments. With help of my bridesmaids and friends, this should be a cinch!

 This past weekend I had the pleasure of taking photos of baby Landon. He was such a cutie and I even got a couple of photos of him smiling. 

Landon's nursery theme was Snoopy so I had to get a photo of him with Woodstock.

Maternity Photo shoot

So i finally finished editing some photos from my first maternity shot. I was so excited and a bit flustered since it was my first time. I had no idea what to do or how to pose them but luckily I did some research and got some ideas and since it was a co-worker of mine and she knew I was an amateur, it was a bit more easy-going and fun. We met at Malaga Cove and walked down to the beach for some shots. I am excited because I plan to take some newborn photos for her as well!

President of Chile

So last Friday for work I was on photographer duty for an event with the President of Chile Sebastian Piñera and one of my photos made it to Mercury Air's newsletter!

That was quite a busy day with lots of security and I almost got run over by several people from the media, but I made it through the day with some great shots!

big bear weekend

Such a fun weekend up at Serrano in Big Bear. Just some lazy days by the river and lots and lots of food and beautiful sights. Here are a couple of photos.

happy wednesday

It's been so gloomy lately but I think I like it. From a heat wave of 110 degrees to a cool 71 degrees. I have been trying to get some photo shoots so that I can practice. So far I volunteered my services to my coworker for a maternity shoot and baby photo shoot. Now I just need to get with her before the baby comes and hope for good weather.happy wednesday I went shopping at Ikea this past weekend so I could pick up some props and I have been doing research on what other photographers are up to. I am a bit nervous but I guess I can't really get anywhere unless I dive into it right?!?!

One blog that I loved was Captured by Carrie. She takes the best and most innovative photos that I have seen so far.

pretty plates

it's been such a busy week and it's only going to get busier with the holiday week coming. I was working on a Governor's Trade Mission in South Korea branding and now that it is approved, I will have to incorporate the artwork on various marketing pieces.

Anyhow, not to long ago my sisters, her kids and I visited an old family friend. Her place always brings back memories of happier times (before I had to be a grown up). I just love how she decorated her place and has continued to keep the same look. I always loved her collection of plates that were carefully hung.

a full moon

The moon was so beautiful that I had to take photos of it. I have been experimenting with taking photos of the moon. I feel like I am a bit obsessed. The first time I felt the urge to take photos, I felt that the photos came out so clear. Since then, I have tried several times but it just doesn't feel the same. But of course, I will keep trying :)

fun farmers market

I had a great time at the Pasadena farmers market yesterday. It started off with a vanilla ice cream sandwich as an appetizer, a bratwurst hot dog, garlic fries and a beef quesadilla. To top it all off, Chi took us to a little gelato place paradis. I had so much food i felt like I should have ran 10 miles after.

Just a little invite i created for my coworkers baby shower. I am excited because we will get to eat thai food, cup cakes and rootbeer floats!

eventful weekend

two great baby showers and a birthday. by the end of the weekend, i was pooped and fell asleep at 10:30!

Here are some photos from Le Quyen's baby shower. She's having a baby girl and the theme was a tea party with bunnies, complete with games like pin the sperm on the egg :P

shower number two had an addicting spinach dip and I got to decorate a onesie and a bib. I also had 12 balloons stuffed into a shirt as one of the games. Man, was I afraid that one of them would POP!

happy weekend

This weekend will be oh-so-busy. I am attending 2 baby showers and one birthday dinner and I think I will play photographer. Hope everyone will have a great weekend. As a little tribute to the babies, I found this cute illustration of baby star wars characters :P it's soo cute!

the moon

A couple of nights back, I decided to set out my tripod and take some pictures of the moon since the weather was so nice. I think they came out well and it shows the details beautifully.

stock photography and concerts

istockphoto changed their website and it looks more compelling. I used to have a problem when I would search images and it check all types of media from illustrations to videos unless you uncheck them, but now you can check what you want before it searches.

a couple of weeks ago, i went to watch a concert featuring Jamie Cullum at the Ford theater. It was such a great concert and I got to bring my camera and got some really good shots! Unlike most concerts I have been to, they let you bring in your camera and food.

I was doing my usual web surfing when I came across this adorable site and had to share it. All of their printed items are so adorable with whimsical illustrations. They even have free templates that you can download.

camping weekend

Gosh, it's been so difficult for me to post lately! I am trying to keep up with my goal of posting everyday but I am failing!!! But this weekend I actually have an excuse. I was camping in Big Bear with the family spending time with the nephews and there was no reception :) It was really a beautiful peaceful place where we could just relax. I even got to do a little bird watching. Today, I get to work from home because they are shooting a commercial in the office :)

bake sale

I am so excited about a bake sale we are having at work. My duties: rice krispy treats, fruit kabobs and of course, the flyer :) It's for my coworker who is participating in a bike ride for Best Buddies.

The weekend

I have already broke my promise to try post once a day and I have already missed it! This weekend went by so quickly and it was filled with fun. Meeting with friends and at the park with the family.
