The Very Hungry Caterpillar

This is my first nursery that I painted. My sister who was a kindergarten teacher at the time loved the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar and wanted the nursery to be theme of the book. So what I did was illustrated the different stages of the book and the fruits that the caterpillar ate and the ending where he became a butterfly. I think the best part of the room is the bright sun that brings all the illustrations to life.

Since this was my first nursery, I was a bit overzealous and painted the ceiling with clouds and a blue sky which took more effort than painting the whole room. My nephew grew up to love that room and the book. I would show him this youtube video all the time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpISHA8Fs4w and he loved it!

The Safari Nursery

This is Noah's room. It was actually Logans' room to begin with but Logan was upgraded to the robot room. When I first found out that my sister was pregnant, I went out and bought her a crib set with a safari theme and decided to match the room with the crib set. My favorite part of the room is the giraffe, but next to the giraffe is a monkey (not shown) that is pretty adorable too.

cars! cars! cars!

I painted this cars theme for my oldest nephew. He watched the movie cars and after that, he was all about McQueen and Mater. All around the house were hotwheels and trains and anything CARS the movie so what better way to make his room fun and fresh with a cars scene. This roughly took about an 8 hour day and my nephew really loves it. He actually came up to me the other day and said that I had painted the room. Previously he would say that he painted his own room as well as the rest of the rooms for his little brother and cousins, so this was a big step for him.
