Solvang and Santa Barbara

After the wedding, a group of us took a long awaited trip to Solvang for some wine tasting and some good food and fun. We stopped by the ostrich farm, some bakeries and just walked around the city. A great time with friends that ended with Korean BBQ back in L.A.

We tried to look for the actual Enjoy cupcake place but found out that they closed :(

my first engagement session and it was so much fun! it was sa bit hectic since Chi's wedding was on the same day but it was great. We walked around Old Town and Paseo and just shot. Since it was my first shoot, I was a bit nervous and didn't know how to really direct, but I think that Ben and Elaine were so great together that it worked so well. Thanks for letting me practice. I shot over 500 photos but here are a couple of my favorites. :)

San Diego Zoo

Back in 2009 and 2010 Charles and I went on a trip to the San Diego zoo with my sisters and their families. I was just getting into photography at that time and pretty much used my Canon Rebel XS 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera and Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens and

 the whole trip and I had a blast.There were so many different types of animals but I think the giraffes were my favorite.

Holly Chan!

Just received a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens as a gift from Amazon and I love it. Did a little photo shoot with Holly and they came out great...even though she wouldn't stop moving. I can't wait for Chi's wedding and a practice couple shoot this week.

I can't believe I dan't have that many pictures of her when she was a puppy, so I guess I have to make up for lost time. Check out evil Holly.

such a busy day. I worked on wedding invitations and centerpieces. I am half way there and trying to get as much as I possibly can before asking my bridesmaids for help. I finished my boutonnieres and even made some for my nephews. Though I need to experiments to see what I want to make for the groom and groomsmen. Also need to figure out the hair pieces for the bridesmaids but I hope that will not take too long. Felt like I got so much accomplished today that I am now just vegging out and surfing the web. While looking for a dress that I found at Macy's a couple of months ago, I came across the Kate Spade website and of course I had to look around in the sale section. Found so adorable earrings and a dress that would look great together!

I have also been watching Lauren Conrad's line at Kohls and I really like some of the blouses and dresses as of late.Very fun and colorful.

So many looks for the summer and so little money to spend on them. All of my funds have been going into the wedding. Hopefully I will win the lottery soon. :)

BHLDN

BHLDN came out a couple of months ago and I just love it. Recently a decor section was added for weddings and I am getting so many ideas from it! There are so many things that I am working on for the wedding and I hope to get it done at least a month ahead so that I can concentrate on cleaning the house and other loose ends.

I have a list of things that need to get done, but I don't think I added some of the smaller things that are piling up in my mind. My goal is to work on the boutonnieres and finish them by the end of this week, but allscrappable is holding a meeting to work on some other invites this Saturday. Maybe I will just bring it to that meeting and have my sisters help me :)

blast from the past

I was going through some old photos to find some that I might be able to use for my wedding slideshow and I came across my friends wedding. Then I saw the date and realized that it has almost been two years. Man time flies! At that time I just got my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens and wanted to try it out. Many photos turned out great, but when I was too close to the subject, it could not focus....you live and you learn... ENJOY!

there are so many things to do before a wedding...but all I can do is look at wedding photographers and their blogs! I have seen so many wedding blogs which led me to photographers, invitations, accessories and everything in between.

I completely fell in love with his site. He was such great photographer and he takes most of his photos in film. I was so taken with his philosophy of the fine art in wedding photography and photography in general that I bought his book from Amazon and got it the next day.

I saw that he offers classes and personal classes. Oh how I dream to participate in one of these! Wildflowers photography also teaches a class. I feel like I have so much to learn.

I took this photo while assisting a friend on a wedding photoshoot. The squirrel just came up to the lady and took a leaf with peanut butter on it. Talk about a easy meal.

As Chi's wedding is approaching, we are meeting more frequently to help out. We are done and the flowers came out beautifully. I can't wait to see how everything comes together.

On one of the nights when we finished early, we had a hankering for some Pheonix desserts but they were too busy. We has some Bin Bin Konjac instead and it was great! Konjac is used in popular Asian fruit jelly snacks and has almost no calories but is very high in fiber. We had Taro, sweet potato and rice balls with konjac. YUM!

A couple of weeks ago, I was offered a orrage as a peace offering. I finally ate it the other day and fell in love with the color of the orange. I know...weird. The photos doesn't really capture the beauty of the color, but I had to try :)

Congrats to Chi Ling and her engagement! The past weekend slumber party was full of great friends and food! I had a blast.
